Okay, here is my desk that needs to be repurposed as a "something-to-be-used-in-the-dining-room."
I want to store my better dishes in the top part, but it seems too dark.
The desk drawer is broken, but Husband says he can fix it tomorrow on his day off. (Notice the drill in the right hand corner?)

I am open to painting, texturizing, wallpapering, or any other idea you may have.
I do change my curtains and dining room tablecloths a lot, so I want something neutral that I can use
with my ever-changing color schemes.
Oh, and here is a close up of the bottom part of the desk. I was thinking about maybe doing a cute
fabric curtain to hide the open part?!?!?!?

LOVE IT! I see lots of potential! My first thoughts are a nice clean creamy white. However, the black w distressed edges would be ever popular... The backing panel kind of stuff would look really nice painted white especially- it looks kind of like bead board or wainscoting. So, that's my vote (for what it's worth!)- paint and NEW hardware for the handles. I wish we lived close to each other to do these kinds of projects. :( thanks for posting pics!

So cute Erin! But I have to admit to agreeing with Beth... immediately when I saw just the first picture I thought of a cream colored paint for the back. So that's my vote. :) But you are always so fabulous at creative ideas... I'm sure no matter what you do, it's going to be amazing!!

I picked up some paint samples yesterday, but then I got a cool idea from the Nester (will post her link when I update info for the desk).
I am off to Hobby Lobby today to see if my scheme might work. I will keep you both posted!
hey, here's a thought from big sis, i like the curtain idea but that would give an 'older/country' look than say a shelf (which Husband could add) and some nice large basket-type drawers.
